What’s The Deal With Nausea?

To put it simply, nausea is the feeling of uneasiness that makes you uncool. Yeah, that’s right – it makes you barf!

NauseaFrom my point of view, nausea is something that can’t be messed with.  For me, at least. I’m quite sensitive when it comes to moving objects.

Like seriously, put me in a moving vehicle, and I’m already nauseated. Last week I went out of town, it was only a couple hours long, and I puked.

Call me weak or whatever, but at least I’m not alone…I hope.

Actually, I’m not. US National Library of Medicine estimated that around 70-80% of women during their early stage of pregnancy experience nausea and vomiting.

So yes, I’m in the same bandwagon as pregnant women. To my knowledge, I’m not 6 weeks pregnant, or pregnant at all – hey, you can’t do it alone.

But of course, pregnancy is not the only reason for nausea, there are other factors as well. We’ll go over that in the next few minutes.

It’s Not A Disease But…

It’s a normal occurrence that everyone is bound to feel. No one enjoys the feeling of having nausea as it causes disruption to our daily lives and everyday activities.

Since the queasy feeling is common among almost everyone, we already have our ways on how to relieve them.

We would sometimes take a day off of work or drink medicines made for these cases. Most of our mothers have their own tales on how to deal with nausea the natural way.

But since we’re a new generation and all, we can embrace science by using essential oils to relieve us from nausea.

Which leads me back to the topic…

It’s not a disease but its symptoms are similar to that of diseases. Here are some of the signs below:

Poor Eating Habits

  • Motion sickness or seasickness
  • Ingestion of toxins or excessive amounts of alcohol
  • Early stages of pregnancy
  • Medication-induced vomiting
  • Intense pain
  • Migraines
  • Emotional distress
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Food poisoning
  • Viral Infections
  • Stomach Flu
  • Overeating
  • Undereating
  • A reaction to strong smells or odors
  • Heart attack
  • Ulcers
  • Bulimia or other eating disorders
  • Gastroparesis or slow stomach emptying
